Special Event Station GB70RAF

Hi all,

I, along with a few other Amateur Radio Operators, will be putting on a Special Event Radio Station this weekend along with 2199 Squadron, Workington.

The call sign is GB70RAF and will be raising awareness and fund raising for RAFA as part of the 70th Anniversary and Battle Of Britain Wings Week Appeal, 70th Anniversary of the Dambusters and 70th Anniversary or RAF Mountain Rescue Service - a vital part of life here in the Lakes if ever you get in trouble on the fells !.

We will be on air from 9am - 5pm on Saturday and 9am - 5pm on sunday so in for a hectic weekend.

Please can you help support us by donating / sponsoring us and promote this to friends and family.

A Just Giving Page has been set up and can be found here:

Text donations can be sent via RAFA55 £10 to 70070 - change amount to suit

and further details can also be found here:

All help in promoting this and donations would be much appreciated as RAFA does not receive any Government funding yet provides vital help to veterans (past and present) and current service personnel and their families alike.

Hope to work some of you over the air. Anyone local to Workington is also welcome to come and say hello. We are are the Cadet Ctr.

Many thanks

Liz.

In reply to M6EPW:

Thank you Jimmy for the donation and for wishing us luck.

We plan to start on 40m / 20m but the intention is to have two operators on air at the same time and do other bands as well. We will also have a morse operator on for part of the event so listen out for us on these areas of the bands too.

Hopefully, we can spot on dx cluster or similar. Will certainly be updating on FB. Will try an post an update here too.

Liz
