SOTA Tour Ireland october 2019

Last week on holiday in Ireland. We were in a cottage near Dingle, in the southwest of Ireland. It was an ideal location to activate various SOTA’s. The weather was somewhat changeable. But generally dry and occasionally a small shower. The temperature was around 13 ºC. And a lot of wind. Especially at the top of the mountain it was very windy. The view on all summits was vy beautiful. On one of the summits we were accompanied by a border collie from parking the car to the top.
During this week I have activated a total of 7 SOTA’s. I used the KX3 and as an antenna the HyEndFed for 40/20/10 meters. And as a mast I used the 10 meter GFK mast from DX-wire. I used 8 AA penlites as a battery. Enough to activate various SOTA’s.

Summary:
7 Summits activated.
23 points.
100 QSOs.
approx. 35 km walking.
