SOTA maps page down?

Went to visit the SOTA maps website and got a web hosting generic page. Is there some sort of maintenance going on something of the sort?

I refreshed and all is OK

The DNS registrar hosting the sotamaps.org names is doing its finest to annoy Rob at regular intervals. These should be on a more stable registrar sometime soon.

This is what I am seeing on the mapping page

:-0 I get notification of a new Association and I can’t “see” it!!! Oh the humanity. Will be checking all day.

Seems to be a problem with the hosting.

https://mapping.sota.org.uk/ is working for me.

Could those who do see it please report whether they see Bouvet in the list of associations? Thanks

I do see it there.

Joe, that server is only for testing and is often offline or unstable. You should re-navigate to the normal sotamaps address https://www.sotamaps.org

Thanks - do let me know what you see at the normal site. Thanks

Coming soon…

OK, so now I’ve made some changes on the server where sotamaps.org was originally hosted, so that the DNS points to the SOTA-hosted server again (where it’s been for the last few weeks). As usual, these changes may take up to four hours to propagate through the web.

Hopefully, as Andrew wrote earlier, the new regsitrar should make the final cut in the next few days, and we won’t have to deal with this kind of thing anymore.

Phil, yep, that’s the old server - check out my comments above…

(Oh sorry – thought you wanted the info about the testing site)

sotamaps.org is now loading for me, and Bouvet is not in the list.

Actually, the test site is not for normal use. It’s just for the admins to test things, and does not represent the current state of development. I’ve disabled the various sections in that site for the time being to avoid confusion…

Tried via 3 routes:

Thanks Andy for the good info. OK, so it would seem that the changes ARE propagating OK - your Zurich and Edinburgh routes are good.

At this end (darkest Bavaria) it’ll take weeks for the interweb donkey-train to reach us…

So, for those who are curious, the “proper” sotamaps server has the new associations uploaded (Bouvet among them), while the old one does not. So, it’s a dumb check for me…

You have nicer beer though. :beers:

The beer is pretty damn fine, I do admit.

Good food, too!
