SOTA makes history

I have just found this in my new book about Šumava National Park in OK.

It says: "Huťská hora is part of the Summits On The Air programme, in which amateur radio operators transmit from hill tops. They are getting points, which are based on difficulty of ascent. Huťská hora (OK/PL-014) is one of the ‘ten point hills’ and it was first used on 18th May 2007 by german amateur radio operator Frank with callsign DL6UNF.

That’s cool!

Such a pity this summit will be lost in the P150 cull as it doesn`t have sufficient prominence from OK/JC-010.

It seems that this summit would not survive the P100 cull either

Points based on the difficulty of the ascent? That’s never been the case.
