Guys, I am sorry I had to QRT sooner then expected.
A family of 5 came to me, and asked me questions about what I was doing, and as I explained to them the thing, I dropped my pencil in a crack of the floor of the deck where I was standing, did not have a pencil to complete the log book.
Next time I activate, I’ll bring a “DO NOT DISTURB” sign with me…

Once I had no logbook and wrote it all on the back of a receipt. I carry a voice recorder and can use that if all else fails. But an extra pencil has always been in my kit.
But I think that family owes you a pencil. . .

If only one pencil is available, carve a groove near the upper end and tie some dental floss to it. Anchor the free end of the floss to the log book. Voila, the floss can be wrapped around the book whilst not in use. To make it triple purpose, use it as an emergency floss of your teeth, including the big Terry Thomas gap in the front. You do have such a gap, yes? If not, get one…the ladies love that. You’re not believing me? What about all of Terry’s groupies (exhibit A)?
