Using a Mp1 on a tripod for 10+ years. Here my experience. Exchanged the whip with a 3m whip from MFJ. This works well with the original radials for 17m-40m. Odx over 9000km in cw. I am using this setup for sota with qcx mini for 20m to 40m.

Another option is to exchange the whip with a 5m version from MFJ. Now you need at least radials for 40m. This works well from 20m to 60m. The whip is a bit bigger :slightly_smiling_face: so it might need fixing in windy weather…

Many thanks, I was one of your QSOs and the first SOTA one with my MP1. :slight_smile:

I tried it again late this afternoon and 20m was very poor, 40m a blank but 30m was reasonable into Europe.
