Snaps from 12,800 ft

I spent a week roving around the California Mono Lake area and despite Jeep troubles had a ton of fun hiking, camping, staring at the stars (I saw the Neowise Comet) and did 13 activations plus one failure (self inflicted).

If interested in what the Sierra Nevada mountains look like from 12,800 ft (answer is pretty awesome!) check out my blog at Mount Starr, A Sierra Nevada Gem – Paul Gacek

Beautiful photo Paul!

Thanks for the nice photos and the report! This made me realize that I visited the Mono Lake area 15 years ago on a road trip, even stayed in Mammoth Lakes, but didn’t climb any summits. Must visit again sometime when it’s possible…

Thanks Ron and I feel your pain. We seem to have lost the plot here in California about tackling Covid 19 and some are suggesting we might be heading for another lock after a lengthy one before.
