SMS server outage

My home internet went off last night around 9pm and is still down this morning (I’m sending this from work). Expected service restoration is lunchtime today.

Until then, sadly, my SMS spot server will be offline. It’s receiving your SMS spots but it can’t do anything with them so they end up in /dev/null.

I’ll update this when it come online again.

Well the ISP status page said “expected recovery time 12:10 BST” and my connection came online around 11:58 BST.

A quick test shows the SMS spotting server is now running. Sorry for the outage.

In fact this is the longest interruption in service, approx. 15hrs, that I can recall in the last 6 years with this ISP.
