Just seen this about the new format (because I was effectively prompted to look).
I am going to have to think hard about how to deal with this in my SOTA Log Editor.

In reply to G0LGS:
Do 2 versions Stewart. You have a version that supports the current formats, so that is done. Do another editor for the new formats.
As I said, I had to make some changes to the old parsers to enable the new formats as well. I hope I havenāt broken any old compatibility with them. But if I have then Iāll fix them so old files that used to work still work.
I have activator CSV working both in old and new formats. I have chaser CSV old format working and chaser new format almost working. It uploads chases and S2S QSOs but doesnāt correctly report any dupes. Something to fix tonight.

Can a new form to be included in FAQ page?
Are some where explained step by step how to use Excel to make CSV for Activators? Iām logging in to MixW software, and if are possible to export ADIF log to Excel file? and back to CSV? If somebody can share a link? Pleaseā¦
I already activated more than 10 summits and have hundreds of QSOs but still not in SOTA database.
Thank you.
P.S. Sorry about my English.

Hi Andy,
Would it be possible to add the above summary to the FAQ page for sotadata.org.uk ? Otherwise I need to find this thread amongst many other threads.
Thank you for all the work you do for SOTA!

Any progress on the FAQs?..even if itās just the log upload procedure and step by step instructions for self-spotting, that would go a long way. Other issues could be added later.

Does the example work for summit to summit upload? My uploads donāt seem to add the summit to summit information but all the other data seems to get added.
Thanks,

Found my problem. I should have done a little more research and read the whole instruction about loading activator and chaser log.
Thanks,

this seems the same with my log right? or Im not seeing something?
The answer could be Yes and No, hi: Delete the Quotation marks and try again (Import Chaser/S2S/SWL TSV/CSV)
The colon is missing in the time field.
Ed.
The colon is not necessaryā¦it functions boths ways, fortunatelyā¦
Ok, Thatās the only obvious difference I can see between your examle from W4ZV and the file picture from Tasos - unless itās something in the comment field that is messing things up perhaps.
Ed.
ok it did work! in two part uploads.
thanks all
I hope the below will add some clarity.
You create 1 file with all of your chase, activate and summit to summit entries. I sometimes batch up a couple of days of entries off several summits. The system doesnāt care.
Then run it through the āUpload Activator CSV/TSV Fileā menu. This will pick out any activator entries (including the entries that are chases that are summit to summit - i.e. the āotherā activator chasing you). If you only had activation records with no chaser or s2s entries then you can stop at this point.
Then run the EXACT SAME file through the āUpload Chaser/S2S/SWL CSV/TSV Fileā menu. This will pick out the simple chaser entries and the summit to summit entries. Again, if you only had chaser entries then just run this second part.
In each case the entries which are not valid for each run through will be ignored. Only summit to summit entries will be processed through both runs.
I hope that helps?
