Well Congratulations Mr. Burns
Congratulations, Ron. I know you will do an outstanding job.

Well deserved appointment. The next new guy always get hit with lots of new ‘tasks’ the old guy couldn’t get done. So let me be the first to request chair-lifts to all the 10-pointers in TN.

Outstanding Ron. An excellent choice to handle the W4T association.

Maybe his first job should be to find a peak to serve as a memorial to his late wife, the legendary K1LIZ.
Elliott, K6EL
Quoted from K6EL: “Maybe his first job should be to find a peak to serve as a memorial to his late wife, the legendary K1LIZ.”
Actually, Elliott, I have been considering something similar to that. She got her first MG on Steestachee Bald and I would like to have a small ceremony up there with some of my SOTA friends. We could say a few words, spread part of her ashes, and maybe do an activation in her honor.
Ron, NR3E
Ron, doing that up on Steestachee would be a fine memorial. Count me and Debbie in.
And congrats on your new position.

Andy, N4LAG
Just now, I added a new entry to the resource page for W4C/WM-010, giving it the alias K1LIZ MEMORIAL PEAK, plus instructions about how to honor her at the start of an activation there.
Elliott, K6EL
Congratulations, Ron! Thanks for all you’ve done for SOTA, and for me!
Michael, N4DCW
What a great idea! Thanks Elliot for this memorial!
Michael, N4DCW
Congratulations Ron. Hope to meet you one day.
Ken, W4KAC
Congrats, Ron! I can’t think of a better person for the job! I would also like to say thanks to Walt - @NE4TN for his years as the association manager and as one of the most dedicated chasers out there.

Ron,
Count me in on the K1LIZ memorial ceremony. I would not miss that for anything.
And a hearty congratulations and thanks for the many chases.

Great Big Congrats, Ron!

Congratulations, Ron! Really appreciate all you do for us!

Thanks everyone, for your nice comments. I am here to serve so let me know if you need anything. Also, a big shout out to Walt, NE4TN, for being the AM for many years. He mentored me when I started SOTA; I can never live up to what he has done for the group…
Ron, NR3E
Sorry so late to comment, but have been out of cell coverage for the past week (Caribbean cruise). When I asked Ron if he was interested in the AM position he didn’t hesitate to take on the task. I knew he was the best choice with all his Activation experience. I still plan to be very active and have agreed to stay on as Asst. AM.
Thanks again Ron!
73, Walt
Congratulations, Ron! You have a wonderful personality and unruffled demeanor, which will be so helpful in your new position! Walt, I’m sure Ron is super happy that you are staying on to assist him. Let us know about the memorial service for Liz – we will do our best to be there. I get teary-eyed every time I think about the fact that I was her last chase.
