Road Closure Borrowdale

The road from Keswick to Honister via Borowdale closed today for up to SIX weeks
according to local radio. Not good if you’re planning on Dale Head etc from Honister, best check.

Thanks from me, too, Rob, I’ve just put something about it on the Mercian MC forum. Fortunately our next LD meet is in the Newlands Valley in March so if the gang want to infest Shepherd’s Crag they can use the road under Catbells, and I can reach LD-020/21 directly from there!

I have just got off the phone with Rachel who live in Borrowdale and the road is close at the Ashness point as they are felling the trees and also taking out the roots of the trees that have gone under the road, you can get through by going on the road that runs at the back of the lake thats the one that runs at the bottom of Catbells they have also had a heavy snow fall over night, hope this info helps anyone going that way.

Local radio reports the road now open to single lane traffic with traffic light control

Thanks, Rob, I’ve passed that on to my friends in the Mercian MC, they are planning to climb on Shepherds Crag on Saturday!
