Awesome Rex and congrats! Had been looking/chasing you guys off and on but not much luck catching any of you guys up there. Maybe too close…Not far off myself and hope to get my goat by the end of this year, WX/Work permitting…Sounds like a good time had by all! 72, Todd KH2TJ

Congratulations Rex. Wow! That’s a lot of summits for a weekend. I tried to chase you on 30, but you had a big pileup and then I couldn’t hear you. In fact, I couldn’t hear anyone at the campout. I guess the path was bad to my QTH.

Wow, thanks everyone! It sure was a wild ride at the end. I’d like to thank all of my chasers through the years, and everyone that’s helped me along the way. And specifically with this last push to Mountain Goat, I’d like to thank:

  • Amy, @AG7GP — for putting together the W7O campout, and providing numerous summit suggestions for me to maximize my points and fun, along with specific info about each summit.
  • Tim, @N7KOM — provided some great strategic summit suggestions to optimize my plans for this push to MG, and some taco supplies!
  • Adam, @K6ARK — not only did he join me on Mount Thielsen, a difficult (but fun!) summit, he also helped strategize and add to my list of summits for the final push. But he didn’t stop there. He went and got pizza and met me at the bottom of one of my summits to feed me and proceeded to keep me company on the next 2 summits! He provided the little push I needed to stick to the plan and keep pushing through to get Mountain Goat on the campout weekend.

Great to be in your cheering section this last week! You fullfilled the tradition of a W7O Campout MG (even if you were in W6 for the last point😉), working non-stop at it those last few days. I don’t think I got a single s2s until Sheep Rock it was so fast paced. It was great to cross paths on Thielsen also! Thanks for all you do for SOTA! Baaaaah!

Congrats Rex!! On Saturday of the W7O Campout, you were my first S2S, Thielsen 2 Hillman. I remember thinking “Wow, Rex is on Thielsen at 8:35am in the morning! Impressive!” Welcome to the herd!
