Radio club talks about SOTA

I will be at the Stockport Rally this coming Saturday 2nd July 2011, putting the SOTA stand on and selling the full range of SOTA merchandise. Visitors to the stand will be able to buy the SOTA T-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts, flags, stickers and the newly-arrived, long-awaited stock of SOTA enamel badges. And all a bit cheaper than ordering through the normal channels, as there isn’t any P+P to pay.

…will give you any location and other details about the event.

Remaining events in this year’s busy SOTA events calendar are:

Saturday 2nd July - SOTA stand at Stockport Rally, Walthew House
Monday 11th July - Bolton Wireless Club (talk about the Pennine Way)
October 2011 - SOTA mini-stream at RSGB Convention (TBC)

In reply to M1EYP:

Thanks for the advert Tom and look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.

The rally website address is http://stockportrally.co.uk

For those traveling by motorway M60, we are advised there may be road works between junctions 1 & 2. We don’t know exactly what will be happening or what impact it will have, but please keep this in mind.

Next event imminent:

“The Pennine Way”

The story of Tom M1EYP and Jimmy M3EYP’s 2006 Pennine Way 268 mile trek - that included activations of all the SOTA summits along the path.

Starts at 7.45pm on Monday 11th July 2011.

Location and other details here:

I am sure non-member visitors would be welcome to attend. I have done talks here before and it is a really good venue, and usually attracts big audiences on visiting speaker nights. We are looking forward to it.

Is anybody on here that isn’t a BWC member coming BTW? If so, please say so and I will bring you one of my special SOTA QSL cards (if you are in the log of course!).

Tom M1EYP

Nice surprise to see Mike G4BLH at the talk tonight. Mike himself actually features prominently in our story of walking the Pennine Way!
