Question?

I have just spoke to Karen and Bob activating Humps on the air…

My question is…if I am out on top of a Sota summit and make a contact with somebody activating a hump…is this classed as a S2S.
Or is a S2S purely Sota summit to Sota summit.

The latter.

The drop down lists involved in enter chaser/S2S contacts do not contain the summits in the HEMA awards programme. They contain only qualifying SOTA summits - so none of the UK HuMPs that have between 100m and 150m prominence wil be included.

I know that the Summitsbase website runs a S2S award. Whether they also run a H2H award or indeed H2S I cannot remember - but have a look at the Summitsbase website and you should find the answers.

Commonly referred to as an H2S Russ, though from the SOTA end it could (and probably should) be an S2H, though every SOTA activator I’ve worked from a HumP has used H2S… and that’s not Hydrogen Sulphide

Commonly referred to as an H2S Russ,

Wasn’t that a rather successful centimetric ground tracking radar (for bombing) used from WW2 right up to the 1990’s (think the Vulcan was the last to use it)…

Summitsbase intends to add contacts between valid summits from SOTA, WOTA and HEMA at some unspecified point in the future, according to the website. They’ll be for unique combinations of summits pairs like the present S2S award with the pretty colour certificates.
I keep a record of other S2H & S2W at the bottom of my S2S spreadsheet in the hope Mike G4BLH will bring the wider award on stream.

Best wishes
