Poor band conditions

I was wondering if i am the only one suffering

Suffering? That’s the understaement of the year for me, Dave :frowning:

From G/SP-015, Friday 29th April was a total crock of garbage for anything HF. With 10 metres of wire in the air and hammering my SLAB using 50 Watts, the best I could manage was 2 qso’s G4PMY on 40m and CU2KG on 20m. I then pulled the antenna down and went back to VHF.

VHF wasn’t quite so bad, managed 81 contacts, including you, Dave

Mind you, 11 S2S was a nice surprise, including GW/NW-001, GW/NW-002, G/LD-006, and G/LD-17 for a whole heap of points.

If I’d not decided to bring my NUE-PSK modem with me I doubt I’d qualified the summit. I managed one on SSB and 3 on psk. All on 20 metres. There was lots of activity … Just no one heard me …
Oh well, I had a really nice day and enjoyed myself. One big plus… No Black flies yet !
