Panorama image added

Hi everybody,

during my visit of Wannenspitze, OE/TI-305, I took a panorama image which I added to the newly created “panorama page”:

http://www.qsl.net/d/dl4cw/pano.html

The picture shows Allgäu main ridge as well as the Hornbach mountain chain with TI-157, TI-183 and TI-256

Wow the Trettachspitze DL/AL-012 looks like a serious climb!

Hi Steve,

quite. You -can- climb it freely while conditions are good but most of the people I know wouldn’t do it without rope, at least for the benefit of simply downroping @any complicated spots. The normal route (continously II, one sting UIAA III) is a traverse along the NE and NW ridges. All other routes are much more difficult. Difficulties may also increase significantly with bad wx (orientation) or later in the year with snow or ice on the rocks. Unfortunately visibility may change from perfect to zero within minutes here, even during summer. I postponed this one again and again  well, maybe next year…

Hi everybody,

the panorama page received an upgrade, the latest pano was taken from Grosser Krottenkopf, OE/TI-157 yesterday.

The view was exceptionally well and I was surprised to not only see alldays’ candidates like Hoher Riffler, Parseierspitze and Wildspitze but also summits, which I identified as Ortler, Piz Buin and even the Bernina group in the far distance. Since the weather worsened noticeably I soon had to hit the trail for the day’s second target, Jöchelspitze OE/TI-368. Unfortunately it took longer than expected to reach it and so only a short activity was possible, sorry for that. When it started to rain I decided to pack up and call it a day. This has been the most expanded tour for me this year so far, 21km round trip, roughly 2000m of ascent and 12 hours in total.
