This Sunday 03/09/14 I will be attempting an overnight activation of Mt Leconte W4T/SU-003. I will post under alerts but I wanted to add information here.
I am planning to start up the mountain before 1700 UTC. I hope to start transmitting sometime around 2200 hours. I will be running APRS to the summit so make sure to check out my track. I am going to try as many bands, and obtain as many contacts as possible, including DX. I will transmit as long as my batteries last.
The temps will be below freezing so I intend to hunker down in my sleeping bag as I transmit. This should be a awesome fun activation!
Your alert has the sequence of 7-14-18 plus other bands. Will you follow that sequence and where will other bands fit? A purely selfish question because most times by 2300 I am in bed 8)but will listen out for you from 2145Z.

I will prob try 20 and 40 first with 80 later in the evening. I think this will time my propagation the best. I am packing my PSK31 setup to give it a test run. Not well versed in the PSK31 so any advice as to the best freq to use.

Hello John,
I agree with Andy about checking out at home as regards PSK. It took me ages to get the software to go from tx to rx when I wanted it to!
To answer your question though 7.040-42 14.070-72 but very flexible but CW ops get grumpy if you encroach on their area. I have never done PSK on 80 so someone with knowledge of that band will hopefully answer. Bit like CW, brief and to the point, in terms of info. exchange/PSK for SOTA.
I will listen on the three bands you mention. I can work all HF bands so if you pop elsewhere and I am awake… 8)
