Iâm sure they were, but would Richard have thought of marketing them for SOTA use? I think we need a Tardis to find out⌠
BTW, didnât you invent the vertical and wasnât that after the 90âs? 
Fibreglass poles of the sort that we use today were very hard to find in the 1990s. It was for that reason that I started importing them in bulk and selling them - long before SOTA came along.
One of my fibreglass poles was bought for a few quid at the local fishing shop in 2003, he was glad to get rid of it because " nowadays all my customers wanted carbon fibre rods".
