To dispel any doubts, there are no technical secrets between Jan and me that should be kept from the public, hi.
I just wanted to be absolutely sure that Jan didn’t make all of the approximately 60’000 CW QSOs on 40/30/20m for the 21 SOTA Mountain Goats with his home-built transceiver (based on the Sierra design by N6KR) from 2014 (photo below) – which would have definitely made his achievement even more remarkable.
Jan’s answer reveals that it remains a “would have”, because Jan, like other DIY enthusiasts, later used commercially manufactured transceivers from various manufacturers, currently the Elecraft KX2.
