OH/K7ATN 1-14 July

Greetings -

From 1 July to 14 July I will be in Finland and will be activating a number of summits with most activity around 1 to 4 July (Lahti & Joensuu vicinities), 8 to 10 July (Kajaani) and 14 July (Jyväskylä). I may also operate SM/K7ATN while in Norrbotten around 9 July. My activity may be limited due to mosquitoes or poor weather or getting lost of course. S2S are welcome!

I will be operating QRP using a KD1JV MTR on 20m and 40m with likely frequencies around 14.064 and 7.032 MHz and 145.500 MHz FM. I’ll attempt to post alerts but otherwise will depend on RBNGate and Chasers to spot me. Please ask for the summit ref if you are not certain where I am!

I can copy up to about 15 wpm only if the content is simple - if you want to convey more information or ask a question please QRS.

I’d be glad to meet up with locals on my tour - please drop me a note at climb2ski at gmail dot com.

Hi Etienne,
Well I hope the trip goes well for you. If you can go to SSB on 20 and 40 that would be great. Will you have APRS and self spot? Hope to hear you in July 8)
Best wishes

In reply to G6TUH:

Hi Mike -
I’m traveling very light - the only radios are as listed, a KD1JV MTR (QRP CW only) and a tiny 2W 2m/0.7m HT. So no SSB and no APRS and no self-spotting. (They say you only need four QSO!) I plan to post alerts and hope that RBNGate or Chasers will spot me.

Hi Etienne, that is very light
Thanks for the info’.
RBN should catch you and some chasers also monitor the dx-cluster so if a non-SOTA person works you then perhaps ask them to spot you there. Setting aside the radio lark have a good time in EU land.
Best wishes
