Hello all!
I am organizing a summit to summit party this weekend during the vhf contest in the California Bay Area / Northern California. There are several of us summiting at similar times both Saturday and Sunday, it’s also the ARRL VHF contest which should open so m m some great fun at summits as well.
I made a Google spreadsheet for coordination. I plan on having 6m, 2m, possibly 70cm. I’m also bringing HF if I have time/battery.

For those interested, Big Hill (NS-290) is open and easy to get to, KD7WPJ activated it last weekend. This peak is an easy day trip for most Bay Area activators if you were not aware. I may head up there (or Robbs depending on access). It is also worth noting that Big Hill as well as any Western slope peak can reach the Bay Area on VHF with a simple whip. I have not solidified what I am doing yet this weekend, but I will be up somewhere like Ralston, or Big Hill or Little Round Top at least one of those days!
I missed this last minute event. Sometimes it is difficult to combine SOTA and VHF Contest. This Sunday I operated from the location about 0.5 miles from SOTA W6/NS-325 for VHF Contest, then I made a quick trip to an actual summit for SOTA activation. The reason for this that VHF Contest operation usually requires more more weight for equipment, antenna, battery, etc.
