I’m pleased to announce that today, September 2, 2013, my friend and fellow SOTA chaser Bill, K5WI, became the 5th W5T Shack Sloth. KX0R did the honors taking Bill to 1002 points from 162 activators.
Just this June, I convinced Bill to attend KC5CW’s SOTA presentation at HamCom in Plano, Texas. Bill’s first chase was on June 29 and the rest is history, uninterested contester to SOTA Shack Sloth in just 2 months!

Thanks Pete. You and KX0R are the top two activators in my log during this 2 month chase. I couldn’t have done this without all of the activators who do the hard work and put the summits on the air. Thank you to all of those activators who are in my log. I hope to work some SOTA activity from the activator side with KI5WL in the Tucson area later this year. Jeff was my first SOTA contact.
