Andrew, is that a LiPo battery that I can see in the pouch?
A good list of contacts.

Hello Andrew,
Good photos.

Yes indeed because Skippy cannot write 8)

Yes but it can drive a jeep. Or so I recall.

Skippy is a clever Kangaroo, didn’t you watch the Aussie export on TV?
So clever Skippy’s mystery ‘clicks’ will be easy for Morse Code gurus to copy.

Andrew, still getting familiar with the FT-817, transpires I was only running 2.5 watts or less not 5 watts as I thought, I was on internal batteries at the time, so I’m not sure but it might have been even lower. Few quirky little things you need to know when you get a FT-817. Like how to charge the battery!!! I’m learning.
Skippy, loved Skippy as a kid growing up in Ireland. Went up the National Park where it was made when I came here in 1989, I was visiting my uncle in Sydney and he took us up there. Still watch the repeats when I see them on, story lines were simple and Skippy always saved the day.

Hello Andrew,
I withdraw my false allegation that she cannot write and therefore would have difficulties in entering SOTA contacts. It was based on my recollection of her which is now obviously wrong.
Australian Government were able to provided me with his CV, a snip from it below. (Skippy on ASO - Australia's audio and visual heritage online)
“…The star of the show, Skippy (played by at least nine different kangaroos), is an orphaned kangaroo rescued from the bush by Sonny and brought up as part of the family. She is a kangaroo of amazing ability and intelligence, able to understand and communicate with humans, open doors, untie and tie complicated knots, *operate a radio, play piano and drums, rescue bushwalkers and foil villains. Free to roam the park, Skippy is not a pet (as this would be illegal) however she has formed a strong bond with Sonny and his family and eats and sleeps at Ranger Headquarters.”
My apologies

I was too young to grow up on Skippy. My first exposure to him was later in life, watching Skippy defuse a nuclear bomb.
