New rucksack and new online supplier

Father Christmas has just brought me an Osprey Talon 33. Much as I like my Lowe Airzone 33/45, I find it a little heavy as a day sac when loaded with the usual SOTA gear. My new sac is half the weight. My best buddy, a very experienced mountaineer, reckons his Talon 22, is the best sac he’s ever had, so he’s bought a Talon 33 as well for that extra bit of space.

I’ve had my eye on a Talon 33 for years! I actually ended up buying a Mutant 38 which has been an excellent pack and is still in use for heavier expeditions.

The quality of the Osprey bags seems to be very good.

The pack which has seen most use is my Mammut Lithium 32, it has carried lots of gear up hills and it’s very light.

Black Friday brought me a Mountain Equipment Goblin 27+ but I’m yet to try that one.

My venerable Osprey Mutant 38 -
