thank you, I made a few mistakes, even forgot my call sign while working the 2m band! I wrote down GW6EWM (first mistake) on the top of my logbook so I wouldn’t make a mistake! So apologies to the first three stations I spoke to!
I can see now why so many amateurs have big notices with their call signs in their shacks.
The weather was atrocious, and got worse whilst packing up, luckily the car was nearby as the road passes right over the top of Mynydd y Betws.
In reply to MW6EWM:
Nice on Emyr, don’t worry about the mistakes, we all do that. Shame about the weather for you but I am sure that won’t be the worse that you will encounter doing SOTA.Well done.
Well done Emyr good to catch you on your first summit, cant understand that last comment me being an unintelligent Englishman but look forward to your next one.I am sure it was all flowers knowing Robert. 73 Don.
Diolch / Thank you all for your words of encouragement. I did feel a bit silly when I realised the mistake I made!
I’m very pleased to see that so many places I want to visit or re-visit are SOTA summits, so with luck you should see me on-air frequently. Getting the time to go out will be the problem now.
I will try to keep the baud rate correct as well on-air, I have a tendency to drift off into the vernacular!
It was certainly great fun, it was good to meet some of the regulars for the first time.
I probably should have taken a less stressful introduction into the hobby than a SOTA activation!
