Today I was on Flint Peak, W6/CT-225. My first four self spots showed yesterday’s summit, Cerro Negro Benchmark, W6/CT-226. At least an hour passed before I realized the error and corrected the spot information. My apologies for the confusion.
It was a fun day! The weather was overcast so temperatures stayed cool. Band noise was low and I worked DJ2SX, SA4BLM on 20 and F4WBN on 17 for some welcome DX. It was good to make QSOs with WB2FUV and AC1Z after weeks of not hearing the northeast. And I managed to get 18 unique S2S contacts, one of those with KX0R on 60!
I used a KX3 at 5 watts paired with a 100’ doublet fed with CAT5 twisted pair.
As I was getting really to pack up, Ara, N6ARA, appeared. He wanted to test some new gear and we had a nice chat while he set up.
What a super way to spend a Friday.
