I went this afternoon to this summit located just about 15Km South of Pamplona, for an activation, but also to enjoy a brief walk through this nice forest:
After a short hike, the summit trig point was reached and it looked like this:
I quickly setup my 14m long sloper wire and got ready to start the activation:
During the activation I got an intense brief snow fall, but it didn’t last long and I didn’t stop my operation.
I started on 30m CW and logged 16 QSOs in 20 minutes.
Then I QSYed to 20m CW, where I logged 9 QSOs after about 30 minutes QRV.
Most remarkable were the 20 minutes in which I logged these DX QSOs:
6 DX with North-America in a row, 2 of which were W7 and one W5, plus a S2S with Eric VA2EO, who definitely made my day!
All in all, 25 QSOs, 6 of which were DX with North-America and one S2S with VE2.
You can see it on the map:
My sloper was nearly pointing to the North today:
The Sun was going down and after several CQ calls with no response, I went QRT:
With big satisfaction, I packed up and took this selfie before starting descent:
Thanks dear chasers for your calls and QSOs.
I’ll be looking forward to copying you all again soon from a summit.
