When I recently set my new SOTA target of activating all the summits within a 30Km radius from my QTH, I found there were 16 summits that I had never activated. I activated the one at the bottom of the list last weekend and today was the next one from bottom to the top:

The first part of the ascent was along a steep concrete road initially and dirt road later until this point, where the mountain hike started:

Next time, I’ll drive up to this point, as there’s enough good space to leave the car here.

After about 30 minutes hike, we reached the summit.

I placed the base of my fishing rod between some rocks I found on the ground and tied it to a tree branch. Unfortunately, I forgot taking pictures of today’s setup, but it was my usual 10m long endfed wire as a sloper to my 9:1 unun and the 6m of counterpoise wire extended on the grass.
The rig was FT-817ND at 5W + MFJ-941B antenna tuner.

The activation went like this:

30m CW: 24 QSOs in 27 minutes, 1 of which was S2S.

17m CW: 14 QSOs in 18 minutes, 2 of which were S2S.

10m SSB: 13 QSOs in 16 minutes.

17m SSB: 9 QSOs in 18 minutes, 2 of which were S2S.

40m CW: 3 QSOs in 5 minutes.
