Mountain cock - adventure

I had my “Close Encounters of the Third Kind” on DM/TH-844. On April 9th I met my challenge. Near the summit after 200m altitude difference a mountain coc guard his beat. So sorry for such a few qso. Normally I work the whole pileup. Loocking forward to do this :wink:

Yes Jens, they can be quite unafraid of humans during the breeding season. I got within 30cm of this bird when going to activate The Cheviot G/SB-001 some years ago.

Thankfully the Red Grouse is a much smaller bird than the Capercaille and in my case it was not in the activation zone - only encountered on the way up and on the way down.
