The ride to a summit often takes hours. That’s when I came up with the idea of a mobile station. A Yaesu FT-857 on the passenger seat, a small 6Ah battery, a Diamond HF-20 FX with a magnetic base for 20m and a modified CB antenna for 10m.
I was very surprised by the good reports and the many nice QSOs. On a ride in a POTA area I was even able to help Don, G0RQL, get a point.
