Hello,
I just noticed that I1ABT had uploaded some of his chaser qso as an activator instead. That makes no difference for the “points” because of the 4 qso required are not; = 0 point.
But if i look at the historic of a summit (ie: F/AM-084) i can see first activated by F6HBI/p and I1ABT on the 12/07/2013.
I have send a mail to Bruno saying to delete all those entries.
To MT: Is there any mine to avoyed this kind of mistake?
You are correct Micheal. If you have a V2 file of chaser data and try and import it as activator data then nothing happens. Similarly trying to import a V2 file of activator data as chaser data wont work.
You can only do it with the old files. I haven’t got any plans to disable the old format file loader. But stopping this happening would be a good reason to stop supporting it. Not for the near or medium future though.

To my mind this was an intended feature of the new file format. At least we discussed this topic when suggesting new file formats.

Perhaps promoting the V2-files as safe against mixing up activator/chaser is sufficient. So the user can decide: Either use the new, inherently safe V2-format or stick with the legacy format requiring more discipline during upload.
Reflector threads have a habit of diverging wildly from their (sometimes cryptic) titles, so relevant information can easily be missed if the original title appears of no interest. I have just checked the thread titles for the last month, and can see no apparent clue as to this mystical V2 format.
So, what is it? Do I need to apply it? Can I continue in blissful ignorance?
I’ve managed without it so far, through ignorance, so it appears to be somewhat peripheral, but perhaps I’ve just been fortunate.
Perhaps someone will enlighten me.

As a fully-paid-up follower of Captain Ludd, this sort of thing is like water off a duck’s back to me - I am content to muddle along with my paper logs!

In the contest at the weekend I was GB GU GW and just G (ie just ignore that irritating V ) only a few got the V first time. My CW is not that bad - is it??.
Thanks Andy. If I read it correctly I can continue as before without harm.

Same here! Still, those who guessed or got it plain wrong will become enlightened eventually as I sent in a contest checklog to ensure they lose the points for not listening carefully enough! I hope you’ll be doing the same …
