Well, something has certainly changed in the process - your GPX track file is uploaded, parsed into units of data, and stored in the DB until a user wishes to access the track data. No GPX files are saved to the system. If, for instance, the user wishes to download the track, the data are read out from the DB, converted to GPX format and offered up as a file. It’s done in this way so that other services in the Mapping Project - such as “View Track in map”, or download as KML - can access the data easily. We hope, of course, that all these steps function seamlessly
