M1EYP Features in TX Factor Film!

SOTA’s very own Tom M1EYP features in the first episode of TX Factor, the UK’s first TV programme dedicated entirely to amateur radio. The cameras were there when Tom activated Stiperstones G/WB-003 last November.

My thanks to Tom and the MT for allowing the TX Factor Team to focus on such a great part of the amateur radio hobby - SOTA!

You can watch Tom’s item now by visiting the TX Factor website at http://www.txfactor.co.uk

Yes - I was particularly impressed by the PSK via the mobile phone!

Such a pity that he did not dress for the occasion.

The well-used outdoor gear and the designer stubble is all part of the hardy mountaineer image! As a friend of mine used to say, “If yer up 'ere, yer gotta look HARD!”

A terrific first program, I look forward to more good viewing from the TX Factor team.

On yer bike Richard. I could probably post some links to draw everyone’s attention to that old yellow coat of yours…

Brian, that’s no designer stubble. That’s my beard within a week of the mst recent beard trim. It’s usually an inch or three thicker than that.

In reply to M1EYP:
Basically Tom, you were just in between beards. I’ll watch the programme later, sounds interesting.

I thought you’d rise to that, Tom!

I understand that GMTV are searching for new talent to present their failing breakfast show.

In reply to 2E0FGQ:
Fantastic programme, I really enjoyed it ! I’m looking forward to the next episode.

I think they’re looking for someone who has good looking legs when sat on a sofa and viewed from a low level camera. I haven’t seen Tom’s legs in the raw, but judging by the scrubland on his chin after only a few days growth, his legs will need more than waxing and toning to get the hairs off. Probably an angle grinder with a diamond cutter. None of your domestic electric grinders mind you but a professional one with a big two-stroke motor!

Agreed! the key to good watchable-engaging video is to educate, inspire and entertain when possible! TXfactor has this formula down. I hope they keep it up! …Steve
