I’ve been away from amateur radio ‘full time’ for a month or so and missed some of the fun recently but working 10 hours a day most days (driving an ambulance) after 8 months of redundancy - hense knocked up some points during the summer but few this month! Love SOTA so missing the chase and competition and sad to see the guy with similar call to mine involved it politics and throwing his toys out of the pram!
For the life of me I can’t see why so many of us take everything so serious -life is to short.
John I’ve been caught for speeding a few times but consider myself a good driver and despite what my wife says haven’t given up driving. So pick up your toys and put them back in the pram and lets get on with trying to get to the top of the leader board. Most of us thrive on competition and only a few have ‘sower grapes’ about your ability.

Damian,
Nothing to add. It is obvious to me now why I missed your call.
Take care!

The first day free to get on the air and I’ve only my 40/80mt vertical up as the wind is so strong today here in the SW UK that it would be foolish to wind the tower up and use other antennas. In fact the tower has been tilted over since last Saturday. Wind tomorrow will be as bad the Met’ Office predicts so no chasing this weekend either. Is there any activations planned for next weekend?
In reply to M0BKV:
Hi Damian, I can indeed confirm it’s been windy in the SW, we spent the afternoon at Teignmouth today.
Hope to work you this winter, I’ve been missing my contacts with the regular chasers.

I thought I’d worked you last week (26/10) when I was on G/CE-001!
Anyway I know it’s a tough job on the ambulances.
My son is an ECA for South Central Ambulance and his girlfriend is a paramedic. They both do 12 hour shifts on different watches, so they pass like ships in the night!
You all earn my respect.
I’d noticed your absence in the usual pileups. Hope you get active again soon.
For me it’s now countdown to the winter bonus so I can get out and collect some more points!
Hope you’ll be there to collect some chaser points
Pete
re s still down!
