LOS Mapping

Hello all,

I seem to remember there being a link on the old SOTA yahoo group to a website that would generate VHF propagation maps similar to Radio Mobile but easy(!). The link seems to be gone and google is not my friend in this instance - any clues please?

While I’m on the subject, has anyone got any experience with Radio Mobile? I have tried twice to sit down and get my head around it. I consider myself to be pretty fair in computational matters, but I can’t seem to get to grips with RM - I’d be interested to hear of other people’s experiences with it.

Though not a web based tool but you may want to give UKW Tools a try.

It uses GTOPO or SRTM data for the terrain model.

Dave,

The one I recall was www.landmap.co.uk however that site does not seem to be working.

I have played a bit with RM, but it must be a year or more since I touched it.

Radio Mobile was a little “unfriendly” to get going to start with but well worth it in the end.

The good news is that there is an online version now available, see:-
