While that is one source of a bootloop problem, it’s not the one that we are discussing here.
I saw the boot loop when I changed the bluetooth type. As long as it is 1 it is ok.
I upgraded to the latest firmware* a couple of days ago and also used the latest config. By default this has the bluetooth type as 1 and there is no boot loop.
* Latest as at time of upgrading.
Hi All
Been a while since I posted, but just wanted to thank John GW4BVE for getting me aware of LORA! We now have good coverage across Powys, Shropshire, Herefordshire, however we are lacking coverage in Worcestershire. If anyone wants to host an iGate, please get in contact! The LORA coverage is so good that I have now changed VFO B on my mobile FTM300 back to S20 and got rid of 144.800MHz
I started with the Lilygo tracker, but (IMO) have upgraded to the cheaper Heltec board, with Rook case!
The only change I have done is the rubber duck!
The dog walk this morning, albeit very wet, was successful!

I have two of them Fraser, one 439MHz Mobile and an 868Mhz portable. they have an Heltec igate each.
Apparently BLE will soon be implemented on APRSDroid. This should be handy for self spotting.
MM0EFI-15 has been established outside our cottage on Mull. Currently tracking our Rally Recovery Land Rover. Later in the week, hopefully tracking me on a SOTA or two.

The rx i-gate has been cable tied to a carbon 6 mast, powered by a USB powerbank, with the whole lot wrapped in clingfilm.

All good fun. Looks like your telemetry needs some attention.
Ah yes, voltage = 0.9v.
Hi Ricardo, mine has started doing it also. It hasn’t done it all summer and the recently started looping at startup (with previous version) I have upgraded to latest web flash version of firmware but it is still looping. I have iPhone BLE enabled. I did try adding some sleep(3)’s in a few places but didn’t make any difference.
we will continue to search for the cause on the Github issues menu
I notice there is a new tracker software version out… is it worth updating? and can you do it from the web flasher?
Thanks
Alan
Ricardo’s tracker software is indeed now available via a web based flash system - much easier to upload to the board and you now configure it over wifi like an iGate. Whether it’s worth upgrading is another matter: on the one hand it keeps you up-to-date, on the other, plenty of trackers around Shropshire have been running the Peter Buchegger tracker software for a long time now without any update and they work fine…
Edit: Nice Alan!
yea, i seem to do quite well! hahaha
Ill leave it then… If it aint broke dont fix it!
Cheers
Alan
Wish I’d known that Fraser. We were over at the rally spectating. I was going to take my tracker but thought there was little point.
Sounds like you need to set up your own portable igate? It’s easy to do and means you have coverage around your area at all times. It’s also a bit of fun.
MM0EFI-15 is on the shoreline and surrounded by hills, so only really any good for Loch Scridean and the Ross of Mull. Point proven today, when I was on top of Beinn a’Ghraig GM/SI-043.
the t-beam and home made ¼ wave whip, picked up 70km north on the isle of Skye by GM0HBK-10
My i-gate was behind several ridge lines, so had no chance.
Hope you had a good rally. Need to get that mkII Escort of yours an entry next year!
I’ve got one at home, one at work and playing with a solar digipeater. I have a few spare boards which I often use for holiday igates but was /M the whole time I was on Mull.
Cheap mobile phone with Data, and a /M igate in the car/truck/van/whatever you are in?? build a 1/4 wave antenna on one of those little minimag mounts, hotspot the board to the phone and off you go!
I have similar plans
Alan
I tested my tracker while on vacation - hope GM4TOE-7 from Cheshire didn’t confuse too many (I was on a narrowboat) - it works which is good to know
As soon as gps igates become a thing I’m in
