i listened for you (and other vk-activators) today for a S2S … but the signals were too weak, no chance of copying anything!
maybe we have the chance to try soon again …

Too many stations that don’t listen on 20m & 40m - I heard a couple of EU activators on 20m but before I could call, some stations started a new conversation on the same frequency. I only had an Inverted-V dipole, so could not filter the others out. When I called on what was a free frequency and listened other stations had started to use the frequency on top of me.

…and sometimes just the vaguaries of propagation. On at least one occasion recently, while searching the bands for possible contacts, I found a spot on 20 metres on which I could hear two QSOs taking place at the same time, and it was clear that neither pair could hear the other pair…

Hi Martin and others
The activation of Bimberi Peak VK1/AC-001 was a success in terms of S2S contacts into the EU. I worked S2S with Phil ON4TA on DM/NW-253 and Al VK1RX worked Franz OE7FMJ on OE/TI-363.
EU/UK chasers worked by me were; Rudy HB9MKV, Franz OE7FMH, Viktor HA5LV, Manuel EA2DT, Don G0RQL, Michael DJ5AV, Colin G4UXH and Massimo IK1GPG. I did make a brief contact with EC2CZF but couldn’t exchange signal reports.
Thanks everyone for responding to this earlier post and waiting for Al and I on 14.310.
I will try another EU/UK DX S2S activation in two weeks when the weather cools a little. This week the daytime temperatures are ranging from 38 to 45 degrees Celsius.
