Korean SOTA photos

Well–things keep on moving here and we’ll all be claiming awards soon enough to prove it here in HL!

Just over the weekend HL3QBN breached his first 100 points in activating above the mountain fortress of Gyejok Mountain (a one point top-up on Sunday morning!):

…but not before hanging out for, like, four hours on Saturday morning for only six contacts–however the views are great from this ten pointer:

The weekend before, 6K5ZLH knocked off 250 points with a double activation day in Deogyu Park, no pics yet, but I did manage to claim his first QSO of the day, quite randomly, as a S2S from IN-025 Munhaksan, a shorty over in Incheon some 204km to the northwest. Tickled with that!

On the other hand, the Wednesday before was a national holiday and so 6K5ZLH, 6K5XZE and I headed up Gayasan for a group activation, quite pleasant weather with which to nap (we were all quite knackered from work and whatnot even before we started the ascent) but ZLH didn’t get any chases with his VLF snores emitting from that peak… Oh, yeah, almost forgot, that pushed me over 500 points on this activation. Half goat.

6K5XZE has also made 100 points, on Hakgasan the weekend before last (no photos yet, sorry!)

Speaking of goats, I spent the night Friday night with a black goat, at the base of HL/JB-023 Jakseongsan, before heading over to HL/DG-002 Choijeongsan for an overnighter on the summit with ZLH–where I enjoyed a few 21MHz chases from GW, HB and EA, before heading down the next morning to do some SOTA PR at the Daegu Hamfest where we recruited a couple of more “official” chasers as well as one more activator. Guess the weather was too nice on Sunday morning that we couldn’t do better than that–they were all out at about!
