Kite Antenna G/CE-004 Bardon Hill

Well done to Ray G7TAS/P working with his kite antenna from Bardon Hill today.

His first HF call of the day, JA8RUU Hiro, on the 17m Band, a distance of 5400 miles, beating my California contact by 150 miles…Nice one Ray!

Also Barry N1EU on the 20m band.

A good contact with OZ1QV on 5meg too.

A grand total of 104 calls for the day including VHF

Keep up the good work with the kite, Ray.

Thanks for info on distance only just got home
Got to packed on summit so bailed out ,and left others to play
Had to take kite down as wind kept dropping and got close to trees
But had a good day, even without 40 m band

Thanks to all those that called in today

In reply to G7TAS:

Hi Ray, thanks for the 40m QSO today. You were an excellent 59 into Leeds with the kite antenna, well above the QRM. 40m has being very difficult to work activators this weekend due to the contest.

Hope to work you again from another summit soon.

Thanks for 59 it was the jokers that decided to fire up next to me that stoped 40m

Had the same on 14.315 some one fired up and to crown it all after moving
To 14.326 had the same
Seem if you go next to a sota chaser you can make more contacts ha ha
