I operated from Strawberry Peak W6/CT-018 and received a call from a special station K4S. It is very unusual that special station calls SOTA activator. It utilized in honor of the 2021 Skywarn Recognition Day event, from 00:00 UTC 12/4 (7pm 12/3) to 00:00 UTC 12/5 (7pm 12/4), for the NC Piedmont regional area. That was me, W5GDW, Gary. I worked several SOTA and POTA during the event.
If I’m working a special event and I can give my SOTA buddies a contact, I’m doing it!! BTW, the 1x1 call kinda threw several folks off…got a few question marks. I enjoyed the event.

Thanks Gary! I also was surprised when I heard this call. Nobody called me before with 1x1 call. I suspected that operator was K2JB from NC, but I was wrong with my guess. I used HB-1B <5 w and my antenna - 20 m band dipole.
