Jim G0CQK's second retirement from SOTA and third overall retirement

Many thanks to Jim for all his contributions to SOTA over the years. I hope that www.sb-sota.org.uk will be staying around as I’m planning a short trip to G/SB later this year, and possibly a longer trip next year.

This will be staying around Caroline because when I was in email contact with Jim @G0CQK earlier this year to check with him as the G/SB Region Manager as to whether or not the G/SB regional notes needed amending, he advised no amendments needed to be made and therefore Jim’s G/SB website will be staying.

Thank you Jim to all you have done to SOTA and all the best for your retirement. You will still be the G/SB Region Manager though until you contact me wishing to step down from this.

I very much enjoy SOTA and am extremely grateful to you, and all the others, who do so much to make it happen!

Being in the cogwheels of SOTA needs much dedication and personal fire - thanks, Jim, that you did it for all of us. Great! Have a good time now (and I don’t want to call it a better time!), all the best for you and yours.

Many thanks for all your comments. I am not completely dissapearing, just moving to the background while making sure thst Andy has all the resources that I have had. @GM3GAV co-incidentaly that activation was when I was marshalling for the Jura fell race which is again on today and a radio amateur team will be there on Jura at this time. That day Jack @GM4COX was on the top of the next peak Beinn an Oir. On the next further peak Beinn Shiantaidh was Alan @MM1BJP

Thank you for being such an important part of the infrastructure that makes SOTA such a joy to manage. It is a blessing of the Radio Gods that we can enjoy hillwalking and radio operating without the subsequent admin spoiling all the fun.
I hope to catch you on the air,
