Isle of Harris - Camb-Hams 2009 DX-pedition - SOTA

Hi all, on Sat 18th 2M0OVV, 2M0TXY and myself (MM1BJP) will be heading off to the Isle of Harris with the Camb-hams for their 2009 DX-pedition.

It was a great pleasure to be invited along to Mull last year with the Camb-hams, where I spent a week activating Summits on the Isle of Mull. WX, Fitness levels and band conditions were all good, and a great time was had.

This year we are heading to Harris (South of Lewis, and North of Benbecula) with the addition of 2M0OVV and 2M0TXY.
Like last year I will be primarily focusing on SOTA activations. My fitness level isn’t as good as it was last year, as I have not managed to get much activations done this year due to family commitments, however, there are 7 Sota summits on Harris itself (6 x 1 pointers and 1 x 2 pointer), and it is my intention to try and activate as many of them as possible (dependant on WX).

My preferred bands will be 5Mhz, 7Mhz & 14Mhz. I have heard it can be very Windy on harris, so hopefully I will manage to keep HF Dipole setup.

I will have SOTA beam for 2M FM & SSB also.

We will have internet access, and will keep SOTA Watch up to date as much as possible.
