Is an E-bike permitted for SOTA?

Well spotted Steve - more info on the link. I will not be buying one…

Dixon of Dock Green would he horrified: Brits - do you get it? (Depends how old you are I guess)

FWD… isn’t that a bit slow in the corners?

E-bike just arrived. Orbea Gain M21. I can see it being handy for some mid-Wales summits.

Looks like the mutz. Lots of shiny, shiny without being shiny

Mavic wheels… nice!
Carbon frame… nice!
Integrated battery… nice!
Subtle hub motor… nice!

Price… ouch!

“I’ve got a bike, you can ride it if you like
It’s got a basket, a bell that rings
And things to make it look good
I’d give it to you if I could, but I borrowed it”

I think so, but only if you leave home with the batteries completely discharged!!!:innocent:

Blockquote t makes me wonder, could I manage to do VHF/CW whilst pedestrian mobile? Would have to strap the Palm Pico paddles on my other arm, maybe. Anyone actually done this?

I recently spent June in Eirope, some of you may have made my SOTA-POTA log. Wife Monika (N5NHC) had a chance to try her sister’s (Gerda-DL1NLG) E-Bike. And now she wants an E-Bike. I rarely say NO to her… And in researching E-Bikes and SOTA I came across this old thread. And a question was raised about Pedestrian Mobile and CW. Since a picture is worth 1000 words, I’ll just post a picture.

Questions welcome here or direct to mike-2025@att.net.
