It has recently come to our attention that there is no evidence of us discussing SOTA over a beer. At considerable personal expense and inconvenience we have contrived to put matters right this weekend.

Cheers Guys!
or from over here Prost!

P.S. did you know that Beer in Bavaria is legally classified as food rather than alkohol, enabling beer vending machines to be legally installed in work places (works canteens etc). I just need a workplace located on a SOTA summit and I’ll be set!
You’ve been away too long Ed
Oops - yes Alchohol - that was the German spelling alkohol…
In the late 1970s to early 80s I worked for an American company (Motorola) in Bavaria and I was amazed when I first saw beer vending machines in the works canteen (very unAmerican). The warehouse staff (Bavarians) used them regularly but I never saw American or British staff drink beer ‘on site’ - only lunchtimes at the local biergarten of course.
Beer is classified as “food” in the UK also.
And it’s extremely low in fat
Rest assured. The W4C crowd has washed down many a SOTA story over a beer, or two, or…
SOTA is thirsty work.
