You do need to prune each band, and not rely on copying the
measurements, different wire will require different lengths. I would
try and get hold of an antenna analyser, it makes life a lot easier.

Thank you, Andy. And thanks for the suggestions. I think I can get most of the materials from my local radio club workshop. I’ll have a look at the 7/02 wire and see if it looks rugged enough for the kind of treatment its likely to get. Thanks for the suggestion on colour; I was wondering about that. From what you say, yellow sounds like a good choice.

Yellow wire stands out against white snow, purple heather, green grass and rock. It stands out against a blue, grey or white sky too.
