Highway B846 revisited...

Last weekend on the way South from a M/C SOTA trip to the West I had hoped to climb Meall Tairneachan GM/CS-080 , but the weather was poor on the day. So I opted for Drumcroy Hill GM/CS-107 instead.
Fast forward a week and a partial bike rebuild to repair a broken wire in the loom. The weather forecast kept changing but in the end I decided to head back up to the B846, which also has the attraction of being quite twisty. Strangely I find it easier to ride southbound, I just couldn’t settle into rhythm northbound.
Anyway back to the hill, I found a spot to park the bike and set off up the track, it was a wee bit steeper than I expected but pleasant to walk up through the trees initially.
Once above the trees the spectacular views opened up. A land-rover caught up with me and it was Tony taking some visitors on a Highland safari. Near the top of the track a metal spike marks the start of the short section across the hill to the trig point. Schiehallion looking very impressive nearby and some other large hills behind it to the west.

The wind wasn’t as strong as forecast and was good at keeping the insects at bay.
19 Qso’s in total, one third of them s2s and a nice chat with MM7HCN who was last activator on this hill and got him his first complete. It turns out we actually met in person on West Lomond earlier this year.
A thoroughly pleasant day out and a good run on the bike too.
