Heads Up! Trans-Atlantic S2S Event - 2nd November 2024

Couldn’t get my Slidewinder to work on 6m so couldn’t join you there Pete. Bit bizarre really as I’ve used 17m antennas on 6m before, but I suspect the loaded element antenna isn’t the same as one without a loading coil. I tried the 40m setting on 15m and signals were well down on when I resonated the antenna on 15m.

As for 10m being duff, I didn’t think conditions were as good as last year. Rather disappointed with the outcome this time, but part of that was being rained off at half time.

I only took my flowerpot dipole - just in case there were a couple of folks on FT8. Wish I’d taken the Moxon up.

I would have to agree. Even compared to just last week, 10m seemed “weak” today, lots of QSB too. Weak is strictly comparative though, as 5000 mile QSO’s can hardly be called weak in the first place.
