On Saturday, March 29, the Swiss SOTA Group HB9SOTA had its annual meeting. In what has become a tradition, following the luncheon a number of members did a joint activation at a nearby summit. This year we chose HB/AG-006 (Tiersteinberg). A caravan of four cars drove for roughly half an hour to the parking lot. From there, it was merely a slight uphill grade the entire way to the activation zone, and it took us about 55 minutes to cover the 3.9 km.
The following nine hams joined the mass activation: HB9AFH Hugo, HB9AFI Kurt, HB9BHW Hansruedi, HB9BIN Juerg (new incoming president of HB9SOTA), HB9BQU Hans, HB9CBR Bruno, HB9CJR Heinz, HB9DST Paul and HB9IIO Daniel. We were active on the following bands: 40m / 30m / 17m / 12m / 2m. We realize that chasers were hearing multiple callsigns from the same summit but worked several stations without getting points – we appreciate your ham spirit!
