HB9EAA silent key

I’m sorry to hear that Nick HB9EAA is silent key. I’ve never actually worked Nick but it’s sad to hear someone in SOTA go silent key.
RIP.

Thanks for reporting that sad news to us Fritz. Not an easy thing to have to do. It is a dreadful tragedy at the age of just 48. I think you would have said if it had been a SOTA accident so we assume it was illness. Nik was good to me on 40m CW with 20 QSO’s between Jan-06 and Sept-08. I will miss him calling in with his very recognizable callsign and the HB SOTA organistation will miss him too.

Though it’s little in the way of consolation, if Nik’s family ever get around to reading this, we all offer our sympathy to them.

Very sorry to hear the sad news about Nik, HB9EAA.
After my recent visit to HB9 land, I now appreciate the scale of your mountains and the activations by Nik, and others, as founders of SOTA-HB.
