Local radio is warning of a road closure from today for “several weeks” between Eskdale Green and Boot. This would make Hard Knott Pass pointless from the east and impassable from the west. If heading to the western end of Eskdale via Wrynose Pass the alternative would be via Cockley Beck and the Birker Fell road, pretty but quite a detour. More info as and when I get it.
